You've just booked your SunriseDirect holiday, heading to a wonderful destination in the UK or Europe, you know what to pack in your suitcase, but as you've never been on a coach holiday before, you're unsure of some of the coach specific essentials.
Having been providing coach holidays for over 40 years, we've picked up a few tips along the way to make a coach holiday as comfortable as possible.
An inflatable one makes it easy to carry as you can deflate it when you're not using it. Easy to fit in a handbag or overnight bag, a travel pillow can make your journey a little more comfortable.
Whether you're travelling to Europe or Eastbourne, you'll probably be on the coach for a few hours and a little extra kip is always nice.
Pair this with a sleep mask and earplugs for a more peaceful snooze.
A blanket or long thin scarf/shall
Your scarf is not only a fashionable item, it's also practical! If you tend to feel the cold, you can double it up as a blanket on the coach for a little extra warmth, especially useful during the cooler months.
If you're not a scarf wearer, pack a small thin blanket that is easy to fit in small hand luggage.
Snacks & Water bottle
Carry a few snacks and a bottle of water with you, whether you're on the coach or not. It's important to stay hydrated, especially in peak summer or hot destinations, and having some snacks ensures you have plenty of energy to explore these great places.
Entertainment - Gadgets & Magazines
Who doesn't have a smartphone or tablet nowadays? They are very useful, helping you to get special offers in coffee shops and restaurants (we all love a bargain!), as well as keeping you entertained when you have a little time on your hands.
Whilst on the coach, make sure you've charged your device so you can keep yourself entertained between getting to know the lovely passengers around you. If you are a keen blogger, it also gives you an opportunity to update as you travel, connecting to your social media at the click of a button.
Easy to carry, convenient and lots you can do on them, it's the ideal travel companion.
Don't have a smart device? Pack a magazine or book to read. Puzzle books are always popular on a coach journey and you've got plenty of people around you to help if you get stuck on that crossword.
Tissues & Hand Sanitizer
A couple of packets of tissues and hand sanitizer is very useful to have. Tissues are handy if you've got a case of the sniffles, or as aircon can occasionally aggravate allergies. They're also great in case you have a spillage.
Hand sanitizer is great for a quick clean after you've been out and about. Stay healthy on the road!
The driver on all of our coach holidays will know the area for your excursions so will be able to give you an overview of where to go, however a map can be very useful for when you're off exploring.
Try to get yourself a small and easy to fold map of the area your visiting. The other very helpful alternative is your smart device! You can Google map your way around town or to preserve battery, screenshot the map for easy viewing.
