Seems like there’s no better time to visit Norfolk than 2018, and we couldn’t be prouder, seeing as it’s been our home for more than 40 years!
In what some people are calling a surprising announcement (not us though, we’ve always known about the secret treasures of our fine county) Norfolk has been listed by The Guardian as one of the 40 places in the World worth a visit in 2018!
Nestling alongside the likes of Peru, Russia, Cairo, the Caribbean and Paris, Norfolk makes it on to this prestigious list of must see places, thanks to the likes of our beautiful coastline, including Blakeney point, home to thriving seal colonies, and just up the road Wells-next-the-Sea. Later on this year Wells-next-the-Sea will be home to a large-scale installation on the beach as the centre piece of the Wayfaring Arts Event which audiences are invited to walk through and interactive with.
Our Unesco City of Literature, Norwich, will open historic Dragon Hall in the summer for the National Centre of Writing, creating a new focal point and thriving destination for hosting writing events and supporting new voices.
Not mentioned by the Guardian are many other hidden treasures that we have to offer tourists and locals alike, such as Norwich Lanes, The Forum, and the two magnificent Cathedrals our city boasts. Further out of the City walls, we have the beautiful Norfolk Broads bursting with flora and fauna and wildlife.
We can’t take all the credit though, there were other UK destinations to make the list as well, including the Scottish Highlands, Newcastle, Dundee, Liverpool and the Isle of Wight. Luckily for you we have some fabulous holidays available to visit some of these destinations - take a look at the links below for more information!
